Psalm 80 and Psalm 126
LORD, I have read this whole passage here in Psalm 80, and it has been a blessing to me this morning…
Ps. 80:14 Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine…
This vine of literal Israel..this vine-the spiritual Israel, the church…and may I apply this to me and my family, also, LORD?
Ps. 80:19 Turn us again O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
In so many ways I can apply this passage both spiritually and physically-both to the literal Jew AND to ME personally. Yes, "SHINE" upon us and anoint us with Your Spirit that we might be a REFLECTION of You!
LORD, after my hard time the last few days, I'm taking this passage very personally this morning. And this is the prayer I pray also for everyone that is also in a RELAPSE of some sort.
Ps. 80:3 Turn us AGAIN, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
My heart cries Psalm 126, too!
1 When the LORD turned again the CAPTIVITY of Zion, we were like them that DREAM.
I seemed to be winning the battle of systemic candida and sleeping better, too, and it was like a DREAM, LORD- almost too good to be true.
2-3 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, the LORD hath done great things for them. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
Laughter…singing…rejoicing! Yes! Yes! You have done great things for me! I have felt so much HOPE at the thought of getting better!
But…what has happened, LORD! What CAUSED the relapse?
Ps. 80:4 O LORD GOD Of hosts, HOW LONG wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?
Ps. 80:5 Thou feedest them with the BREAD OF TEARS; and givest them TEARS TO DRINK IN GREAT MEASURE.
I cry, too, for my relapsing friends who are hurting even worse than I, and for my friend from Israel who continues to struggle alone working each day even through her illness. When I opened her last letter and found out that her 17 yr. old son just died, my tears fell fast!
Ps. 80:6 Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbors: and our enemies laugh among themselves.
LORD, I don't want to be a strife to anyone, but I know my need for a "chemical-free" environment is sometimes a strife to others. And the demons are laughing, but I thank-You, LORD, that You are in control of all of this. They can only laugh because You let them, and someday they will laugh no more!
Ps. 80:7 Turn us AGAIN, O GOD of hosts, and cause thy face to SHINE; and we shall be saved.
Yes, turn us around AGAIN, O LORD, just as You have done it before! Turn us AGAIN! We WAIT on You!
Back to Psalm 126
4 Turn AGAIN our CAPTIVITY, O LORD, as the streams in the south.
I remember today, LORD, how You turned back my real CAPTIVITY a few years back by reducing my carbohydrates. Then last summer/fall I was in CAPTIVITY again, and You sent the Nystatin and Olive Leaf Extract my way. Now what, LORD? Are there any more answers? Please turn AGAIN my CAPTIVITY!
5 They that sow in TEARS shall reap in JOY.
LORD, You know our TEARS in the middle of the night! You know our TEARS over and over again, and You cry with us. "…Put thou (our) tears into thy bottle…" (Ps. 55:8) Are they not all the way up to the top yet?
6 He that goeth forth and WEEPETH, BEARING PRECIOUS SEED, shall doubtless COME AGAIN REJOICING, bringing his sheaves with him.
Bearing seed? What seed?
"If ye hath FAITH as a grain of mustard seed…"
Hallelujah! Thank-You, LORD
