Psalm 121:2
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
Lord, as I look out my window this morning I see the buds and blooms on the trees and bushes and remember how my little girls ran to show me the first blooming daffodils and roses of a few days ago. They picked the beautiful purple blooms from the front bush and wanted ME to delight in them, too, but I had to say, "Oh, yes, they are so pretty, but please take them away. They make mommy sick!"
Ah…Lord, the little bird is chirping this morning. "It's springtime… it's springtime", he seems to say, and my heart rejoices, too for the beauty of Your world! I've always loved the springtime, Lord. It has always been my favorite time of the year,…but the springtime
doesn't love me anymore!
The achiness in my neck this morning seems to tell me so. It was difficult to crawl out of bed! But here I am looking out of the window and remembering the Zoology and plant Taxonomy courses I took in college…Yes, the study of the intricate parts of flowers and insects and the collections I made helped me to realize what an awesome God You are! And when I think of the billions of stars up in the sky that are light years away, I just have to stop and bow before You, Lord. You are SO BIG, God! You made the heavens and the earth and all that in them is, and You made ME. You are BIG! I love this verse from Job 26:7 – "He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon NOTHING." You are BIG…so BIG…! If You have been big enough to make haven and earth, surely You will come and HELP ME! My help cometh from You, Lord! Amen
