Psalm 34
5b And their faces were not ashamed.
O Lord, as I think of "wisdom" and "shining", I am reminded of Ecc. 8:1 –
"…a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine…"
This fits well with this second part of the verse. As we LOOK to YOU and are LIGHTENED, our FACES will SHINE, and we will not be ashamed to be suffering Christians. We will not be "disappointed" with this CALLING on our lives. We will not be "brought to confusion". We will UNDERSTAND!
May Paul's prayer be my prayer, too, Lord:
"According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be MAGNIFIED in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. "For to me to live is CHRIST, and to die is GAIN." (Phil. 1:20- 21)
That word "magnified" rings a bell!…"O MAGNIFY the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together." This was my prayer from verse 3! And how shall we MAGNIFY the Lord together?…Through our bodies, "whether it be by life, or by death." Yes!
Special words are these to me, too, Lord:
"..he that BELIEVETH on him shall not be confounded." (CONFUSED) (I Pet. 2:6b)
There shall be UNDERSTANDING for those who believe!
And…most precious is this promise that follows:
"Unto you therefore which believe HE IS PRECIOUS." (I Pet. 2:7a)
It is so! It is so! You are most PRECIOUS to me! I love You, Lord, because You first loved me! In Jesus' name. Amen!
