O Magnify the Lord With Me
Psalm 34:1-4
1 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
At ALL times? Even when I'm having bad reactions? Even when I feel badly almost all the time and can't determine what I'm reacting to? Even when I've found some "promising treatments" and supplements, but I have no money or way to do them? Yes!
Yes!..I bless You this morning, Lord! Thank-You for the sunshine! Thank-You that I was able to sleep most of the night even though I had trouble there for awhile and even though I woke too early! Thank- You for working patience, peace, and trust within me!
2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof and be glad.
"In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah! (Ps. 44:8)
YOU have done great and wonderful things for me, Lord! YOU have provided RELIEF for me, Lord, when the going got really rough. YOU have kept me alive! Hallelujah! You have given me strength to live each day, and I long to live by YOUR strength today in the FULLNESS OF
GOD!
3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
I long to MAGNIFY You, Lord…so that others will see how really BIG You are! I long for that sweet communion, too, with other hurting saints – the sharing of meditations in Your Word and the exalting of Your NAME and character through TESTIMONY! Together with these saints may I be able to "advance Your kingdom' and "lift You HIGH"! " O MAGNIFY THE LORD WITH ME!" are the words I wish to proclaim to all those who will read my prayer, Lord!
4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
When I seek YOU, Lord, I am seeking righteousness and meekness – for You are HOLY and most HUMBLE. I seek You and follow after You because I want to be like You! Oh, impart to me a little of Your righteousness and meekness!
"Seek ye ME, and ye shall LIVE…" (Zeph. 2:3), You say to me. Ah, here is my answer! Lord, the word "sought' can mean "To follow", and this reminds me of Cindy Duehring's song, "Follow Him!". As I am learning how to FOLLOW You in Your sufferings, by Your grace, knowing that to THIS I am called, You are beginning to give me a FREEDOM FROM FEAR in
this matter. Lord, give me a settled peace that You are near and that everything will be o.k. even when my health seems to deteriorate. Hallelujah! Thank-You, Lord, for hearing my prayers. Continue giving me answers, Lord, on what I need to do. In Jesus' name. Amen!
