Ezekiel 36:28
28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
Some of the companion words of "dwell" are "to sit down…remain…to settle…to marry continue." Yes, there is a promise for us here. If the "new heart" is really and truly given to us, it is evidence that You have LOVED us with an EVERLASTING LOVE. (Jer. 3:13) We are united
with You – MARRIED to You, and there is a promise that we will remain with You forever. And we shall be Your people, and You will be our God!
When I think of the word "dwell" – TO DWELL in the LAND of the LIVING – I think of peace and true happiness. Walking in the power of the Spirit means dwelling in You and you dwelling in me. Walking in the power of the Spirit is real LIVING. And how do we "walk by the Spirit"? Again I quote Piper: (my emphasis)
* The way to allow the Spirit to control you is to keep you heart HAPPY IN GOD...
* You walk by the Spirit when your heart is resting in the PROMISES of God...
* You make your heart HAPPY in the Lord by opening the Bible and letting the Word KINDLE FAITH.
Thank-You, Lord, for these "Piper sayings". May we meditate on them and let them become REALITY in our lives!
